Objective: It was aimed to adapt the Premature Infant Oral Motor Intervention (PIOMI) developed by Brenda S. Lessen Knoll into Turkish. Material and Methods: Turkish language adaptation of PIOMI was carried out between March-May 2019. Language adaptation of PIOMI, which original language is English, was tested using translation - back translation method. The final Turkish and English forms were evaluated by Lessen Knoll and it was determined that they were appropriate in terms of content and meaning. Later, a video recording that contain the PIOMI application steps was sent to Lessen Knoll by e-mail in order to evaluate the correct and adequate implementation of the PIOMI application steps. Results: Lessen Knoll checked the application and the accuracy of the steps, made suggestions and approved the implementation of PIOMI by the researchers. She gave permission for the printing and use of the Turkish version of PIOMI. In this context, PIOMI was brought to the available levels and standards in Turkey. Conclusion: PIOMI; today is widely used in more than 60 Neonatal Intensive Care Units in 20 countries. PIOMI has been tested internationally, a total of 26 scientific articles have been published, 2 of which are meta-analysis studies, 4 of which are systematic review and 20 of them randomized controlled studies.
