Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, flor (F) tedavisi ile ilgili Türkçe YouTube videolarının, video içeriğini değerlendirmek ve ne kadar doğru bilgilendirme yapıldığına ışık tutmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: 'Flor uygulamaları' anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak YouTube'da arama yapıldı. İlk 200 video bağımsız olarak gözden geçirildi; içerikleri ve doğruluğu değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel değerlendirmelerde SPSS Windows 22.0 versiyon programı kullanıldı. Bulgular: Elli dört video çalışmaya dâhil edildi. Videolar 2011-2021 tarihleri arasında; çoğu (n=20, %37) bir medya kuruluşu/TV tarafından yüklenmişti. En çok bahsedilen F ajanı F vernikti (n=21, %39). Bir üniversite tarafından yüklenen 2 videonun 2'si (%100); Sağlık Bakanlığı kurum ve kuruluşları tarafından yüklenen 7 videonun 4'ü (%57); özel klinikler/hastaneler tarafindan yüklenen 17 videonun 4'ü (%24) ve medya/TV kuruluşları tarafından yüklenen 20 videonun 4'ü (%15) çok yararlı/yararlı video olarak tespit edildi. Videoların 12'si (%22) kapsam olarak başarısız; 29'u (%54) yetersiz; 9'u (%17) ortalama seviyede ve 4'ünde de (%7) mükemmel bulundu. On yedi (%31) videonun doğru bilgi içermediği; 20 (%37) videonun az derecede doğru bilgi içerdiği; 7 (%13) videonun orta derecede doğru bilgi içerdiği ve 10 (%19) videonun da tamamen doğru-profesyonel bilgi içerdiği tespit edildi. Altısı (%11) 'çok yararlı', 8'i (%15) 'yararlı', 22'si (%41) 'az yararlı' ve 18'i (%33) 'yararsız' olarak tespit edildi. Görüntülenme sayısı, görüntülenme oranı, etkileşim puanı ve yükleyen kaynak ile yararlılık skoru arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmadı (p=0,056; p=0,513; p=0,210; p=0,216). Sonuç: Türkçe YouTube videoları, F tedavilerinin yararları, uygulama prosedürü, uygulama aralığı, uygulanma yaşı, uygulama miktarı ve kapsamı hakkında yeterli ve doğru bilgi içermemektedir. Diş hekimleri, internetteki videoların yüklenme kaynağına ve kapsamına göre yanlış ve sınırlı bilgi içerebileceği konusunda hastalarını uyarmalıdır.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the video content of Turkish YouTube videos about fluor (F) therapy and to shed light on how accurate information is provided. Material and Methods: A search was made on YouTube using the keywords 'Fluor applications.' The first 200 videos were independently evaluated for content and accuracy. SPSS Windows 22.0 version program was used for statistical evaluations. Results: Fifty-four videos were included in the study. Most of videos (n=20, 37%) were uploaded by a media/TV. Two of the 2 videos uploaded by a university (100%); 4 out of 7 videos uploaded by Ministry of Health institutions and organizations (57%); 4 out of 17 (24%) videos uploaded by private clinics/hospitals and 4 (15%) out of 20 videos uploaded by media/TV organizations were identified as very useful/useful videos. Twelve (22%) of the videos were unsuccessful; 29 (54%) were inadequate; 9 (17%) were found to be average and 4 (7%) were found to be excellent. 17 (31%) videos contain no accurate information. Twenty (37%) videos contain little accurate information; 7 (13%) videos contain moderately accurate information and 10 (19%) videos contain completely accurate-professional information. Six (11%) videos were determined as 'very useful', 8 (15%) videos as 'useful', 22 (41%) videos as 'less useful' and 18 (33%) videos as 'useless'. Conclusion: Turkish YouTube videos do not contain sufficient and accurate information about the benefits of F treatments, application procedure, application interval, application age, amount and scope of application. Dentists should warn their patients about videos on the internet may contain false and limited information, depending on the source and scope of the upload.
