Amaç: Bu araştırma intörn hemşirelik öğrencilerinin tıbbi hata eğilimlerini belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırmanın örneklemini Nisan-Mayıs 2017 tarihleri arasında çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 164 intörn hemşirelik öğrencisi oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında Özata ve Altunkan (2010) tarafından geliştirilen, 'Hemşirelikte Tıbbi Hataya Eğilim Ölçeği (HTHEÖ)' ve intörn tanıtım formu kullanıldı. Verilerin analizi ortalama ve yüzdelik hesaplamalar ile Kruskal Wallis Testi ve Mann-Whitney U Testi kullanılarak yapıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan intörn hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 22,40±1,37 olup %71,3'ü kadındır. Öğrencilerin %73,2'si klinik uygulamada ortalama 5-10 arasında hastaya bakım verdiğini, %77,4'ü hasta bakımını hemşire ile birlikte yaptığını, %48,2 si de tıbbi hata ile karşılaştığını ifade etmiştir. HTHEÖ toplam puan ortalaması 212,15±23,92 (min: 126, max: 245) dir. Ölçeğin alt boyut puan ortalamalarının 'İlaç ve Transfüzyon Uygulamaları' alt boyutunda 78,15±9,82, 'Enfeksiyonların Önlenmesi' alt boyutunda 54,44±5,98, 'Düşmelerin Önlenmesi' alt boyutunda 22,06±2,86, 'Hasta İzlemi ve Malzeme- Cihaz Güvenliği' alt boyutunda 36,20±6,37, 'İletişim' alt boyutunda 21,28±3,75 olduğu belirlendi. İntörnlerin cinsiyeti ile HTHEÖ 'iletişim' alt boyutu puan ortalamaları arasında (p: 0,050) ve hasta bakımını hemşireden bağımsız yapma durumları ile 'İlaç ve Transfüzyon Uygulamaları' alt boyutu puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark (p=0,015) saptandı. Sonuç: Araştırma bulgularına göre; intörn hemşirelik öğrencilerinin tıbbi hata yapma eğiliminin düşük olduğu, hasta bakımında ilaç ve transfüzyon uygulamalarını hemşireden bağımsız yapan intörnlerin tıbbi hata eğiliminin hemşire ile birlikte yapan intörnlere göre daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Hemşirelik eğitiminin intörnlük döneminde öğrencilerin tıbbi hataların önlenmesine yönelik bilgi ve becerilerinin güncellenmesi önerilebilir.

Objevtive: This study was conducted to determine the medical error tendency of intern nurses. Material and Methods: The sample of the study was composed of 164 voluntary intern nurses in April-May 2017. 'Medical Error Tencency Scale in Nursing' developed by Özata and Altunkan (2010) and 'Intern Identification Form' were used as data collection tools in the study. Descriptive data of the study was analyzed for percentages and averages and Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests were utilized in data analysis. Results: The avarega of age 22.40±1.37 and female 71.3% of intern nurses who participated in the study. Students stated that give care to avarega 5-10 patient in clinical practice (73.2%), that give care to patients with nurse (77.4%), and that to meet the medical errors (48.2%). Mean score for the HTHEO scale is 212.15±23.92 (min: 126, max: 245). It was determined that mean score of the sub-dimensions of inventory is 78.15±9.82 for 'Medicine and Transfusion Practices' dimension, 54.44±5.98 for 'Prevention of Infections' dimension, 22.06±2.86 for'Prevention of Falls' dimension, 36.20±6.37 for 'Patient Monitoring and Material Safety' dimension, and 21.28±3.75 for 'Communication' dimension, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the gender (p=0.050) of the interns and the sub-dimension of 'communication', and to give care to patient the nurse-independent (p=0.015) and the mean scores of 'medicine and transfusion practices' sub-dimension. Conclusion: Study results shows that medical error tendency among intern nurses is low. It was concluded that the level of medical error tendency of the intern students who made the medication and transfusion practices independent of the nurse was higher than the intern students who made with nurse. It is suggestible to update the knowledge and skills of the students about prevention of medical errors in the internship period of nursing education.
