Homeopathy Users' Quality of Life and View About Homeopathy
Homeopati Kullanan Kişilerin Yaşam Kaliteleri ve Homeopatiye İlişkin Görüşleri

ABSTRACT
Objective: This study aimed to determine the quality of life for homoeopathy users and their opinions about homoeopathy. Material and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional studysample consisted of 180 participants who received homeopathy counselling and members of a homeopathy association in İzmir, Turkey. Research data was collected by using Demographic Information Form and The World Health Organization Quality of Life Instrument-Short Form in February and May 2020. In addition to descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, Student's t-test, Mann-Witney U test, one-way variance analysis, Yates' corrected chi-square test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used in the analysis of the data. Results: The average age of the participants was 45.62±10.20, 51.7% were 45 years old and over, 87.2% were women, 56.7% were married, 93.9% had bachelor's degree, 70.5% were using homoeopathy in both acute and chronic conditions, and 74.4% stated that they did not use any medicine except homoeopathy. The average satisfaction score was found as 9.14±1.52. Participants' quality of life subscale mean scores; the physical domain was 16.17±2.24, the psychological domain was 15.34±2.16, the social domain was 14.62±2.59 and the environmental domain was 15.00±2.02. The mean scores of those with homeopathy satisfaction level above five were higher and the differences in psychological and social domain scores were significant (p<0.010). Those who do not use drugs except homoeopathy had higher physical and social domain scores (p<0.010). Conclusion: It was seen that the vast majority of the homeopathy users were female and graduated from a university, were highly satisfied with homeopathy and had positive attitudes towards the homeopathy.

Amaç: Bu çalışma, homeopati kullanan kişilerin yaşam kaliteleri ve homeopatiye ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Tanımlayıcı kesitsel tipteki bu çalışmanın evrenini, İzmir ilinde bulunan Organon Homeopati Derneği üyeleri ve homeopati danışmanlığı alan kişiler oluşturdu. Bilgi Formu ve Dünya Sağlık Örgütü Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği-Kısa Formu'nu içeren anketler kullanılarak elde edilen veriler, Şubat ve Mayıs 2020 tarihleri arasında toplandı. Tam doldurulmuş ve geri gönderilen 180 formun verileri değerlendirildi. Verilerin analizinde, tanımlayıcı istatistiklerin yanı sıra Pearson korelasyon katsayısı, bağımsız gruplarda t-testi, Mann-Whitney U testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi, Yates düzeltmeli ki-kare testi ve Kruskal-Wallis H testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılanların yaş ortalaması 45,62±10,20 olup, %51,7'si 45 yaş ve üzeri, %87,2'si adın, %56,7'si evli, %93,9'u üniversite mezunudur. Katılımcıların %70,5'i hem akut hem de kronik rahatsızlıklarda homeopati kullandığını ve %74,4'ü homeopati dışında başka ilaç kullanmadığını ifade etti. Homeopati danışmanlığı alanların memnuniyet puan ortalaması 9,14±1,52 olarak bulundu ve yaşam kaliteleri alt boyut puan ortalamaları; bedensel alan 16,17±2,24, ruhsal alan 15,34±2,16, sosyal alan 14,62±2,59 ve çevresel alan 15,00±2,02 olarak belirlendi. Homeopatiden memnun olma puanları 5'in üzerinde olanların ölçek alt boyut puan ortalamaları daha yüksekti, ruhsal ve sosyal alan puanları arasında anlamlı farklar elde edildi (p<0,010). Homeopati dışında ilaç kullanmayanların bedensel ve sosyal alan puan ortalamaları daha yüksekti (p<0,010). Sonuç: Homeopati kullanan danışanların büyük çoğunluğunun kadın ve üniversite mezunu olduğu, homeopatiden ileri düzeyde memnun ve homeopati hakkında olumlu görüşlere sahip oldukları görüldü.
