Amaç: Uşak Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesine başvuran hastalarda dişlerin gömülü kalma oranlarını , lokalizasyonların ı, yaş ve cinsiyete göre dağılı mlarını ve literatürde bulunan Türkiye'de yapılmış çalışmalarla tartışmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu retrospektif çalışmada, 2016-2018 yılları arasında Uşak Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesine başvuran 3.858 hastanın panoramik radyografları değerlendirildi. Hastaların gömülü dişlerinin lokalizasyonları cinsiyete ve yaşa göre değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel değerlendirme için ki-kare testi, Pearson korelasyon testi ve iki orantının karşılaştırılması Z testi yapıldı. Bulgular: Hastaların 909 (%23,56)'unda gömülü diş tespit edildi. Hastaların yaş aralığı 18-59 yıl idi. En sık gömülü kalan dişler sırasıyla mandibuler 3. molar, maksiller 3. molar, maksiller kanin, mandibular kanin, maksiller 2. molar ve mandibuler 2. molar dişlerdi. Hastaların yaşları ile gömülü diş sayıları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulundu (p=0,001). Cinsiyet ile gömülü dişler arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamadı (p<0,05). Gömülü dişlere komşu olan dişlerde rezorpsiyon, çürük ve kist görülmesi gömülü olmayan komşu dişlere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde farklı idi (p<0,001). Sonuç: Uzun dönem gömülü 3. molarla ilişkili patolojik değişiklikler, asemptomatik gömülü molarların çekimine karar vermek için önemli olabilir.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the locations, rate and gender distribution of impacted teeth of the patients who admitted to Uşak University Faculty of Dentistry and discuss the results with other studies carried out in Turkey. Material and Methods: In this retrospective study, panoramic radiographs of 3.858 patients who applied to Uşak University Faculty of Dentistry between 2016-2018 were evaluated. The location of the impacted teeth of the patients were evaluated according to gender and age. For statistical evaluation, chi-square test, Pearson correlation test and comparison of two proportions Z test were performed. Results: Impacted teeth were detected in 909 (23.56%) patients and the age of patients ranged from 18-59 years. The most frequently impacted teeth are respectively; mandibular third molar, maxillary third molar, maxillary canine, mandibular canine, maxillary second molar and mandibular second molars. A statistically significant relationship was found between the age of the patients and the number of impacted teeth (p=0.001). There was no statistically significant difference between sex and impacted teeth (p<0.05). Resorption, caries and cysts were significantly different in teeth adjacent to impacted teeth compared to non adjacent to impacted teeth (p<0.001). Conclusion: Pathological changes associated with long-term impacted third molars may be important to decide the extraction of asymptomatic third molars.
