Objective: Pain is the biggest indicator of an unhealthy tooth. Sometimes patients look for ways to relieve pain at home. Internet, especially YouTubeTM, is an easy source of information for these patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the content and quality of videos that patients come across when they want to relieve toothache naturally at home. Material and Methods: The word ''toothache'' was searched in Turkish on YouTubeTM, the results were sorted by the number of views, and 184 videos with at least ten thousand views were saved and analyzed. The 67 videos that met the evaluation criteria were included and viewed by two researchers. The videos were evaluated according to the ''Global Quality Scale'' (GQS). Descriptive statistics of the videos were recorded. Kappa-test and t-test were used for statistical evaluations (p<0.001). Results: As a result of the evaluations, a high level of agreement was observed between the researchers in terms of pain products (p=0.815), causes of pain (p=0.813), and dentist recommendation (p=0.848), while a low level of agreement was observed between video quality scores (p=0.440). It was observed that 24% of the videos were uploaded by dentists. When the quality of the videos was scored according to the GQS, only 9% were scored as 'good quality' by both researchers. Cloves, garlic, saline gargling and ice compresses were the most recommended methods. Conclusion: When the videos were evaluated in terms of source of videos, patients may be advised to choose the videos uploaded by dentists to watch. Even if natural home remedies relieve pain, patients should visit a dentist for diagnosis and treatment of pain.
