Amaç: Birçok diş hekimliği öğrencisi, endodonti stajını zor ve stresli bulmaktadır. Endodontik tedavinin çok aşama gerektiren ve uzun süren bir tedavi olması, kök kanal anatomilerinin karmaşık olması gibi sebepler, öğrenciler üzerinde stres oluşumu ve öz güven azalmasına sebep olabilmekte ve tedavinin başarısını etkileyebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 5. sınıf endodonti stajını tamamlamış öğrencilerin yaptıkları tedaviler üzerine düşüncelerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: İnternet üzerinden yapılan anket tipi, Türkiye genelindeki diş hekimliği fakültesi 5. sınıf öğrencilerine e-posta ve haberleşme uygulamaları üzerinden anket linki gönderilmesi ile uygulandı. Anket, endodontik tedavi sırasında kullanılan bazı ekipmanlar, tedavinin idealliği, staj puanlama sistemi ve kök kanal varyasyonlarının tedavi edilmesinin değerlendirilmesi ile ilgili kapalı uçlu sorulardan oluşturuldu. Toplamda 706 katılımcının anketi değerlendirmeye dâhil edildi. Elde edilen veriler, ki-kare ve Fisher exact testleri kullanılarak istatistiksel olarak analiz edildi. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin %76,2'si, endodonti stajında yaptıkları kanal tedavilerinin ideal olmadığını düşünmektedir. Bunların %46,5'i, staj puanlarını yetiştirebilmek için ideal olarak çalışmadığını belirtmiştir. Endodonti stajında öğrencilerin %49,9'u rutin, %21,1'i bazen rubber dam kullandığını, %29'u ise hiç rubber dam kullanmadığını belirtmiştir. Döner alet sistemi kullanan öğrenciler, yaptıkları tedavilerin daha ideal olduğunu düşünmektedir (p0,05), fakat staj puanı kanal sayısı üzerinden hesaplanan öğrenciler kök kanal varyasyonlarını bulup tedavi etme üzerine daha istekli olduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Sonuç: Mezuniyet öncesi öğrencilerin görüşlerinin değerlendirildiği bu ankette, öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğu endodonti stajında yaptıkları kanal tedavilerinin ideal olmadığını belirtmiştir. Bunun nedeninin kendilerine olan güven eksikliğinden çok teknik ekipmanlar ve süre gibi faktörlerle daha çok ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür.

Objective: Many undergraduate dental students consider the internship program of endodontics extremely complicated and stressful. Endodontic therapy is time consuming and root canal anatomy has a very complex anatomy. For these reasons, there may be a lack of confidence and stress development in students, which may affect the success of root canal therapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the considerations of students on root canal therapy in internship program of endodontics. Material and Methods: This study was online-survey research. The questionnaire link was sent to 5th grade students of dental faculties in Turkey via e-mail and communication applications. The questionnaire was comprised of closed-ended questions, about some equipment used during endodontic treatment, ideality of treatment, internship scoring system and evaluation of treatment of root canal variations. 706 questionnaires were included. The data were analyzed using chi-square and Fisher's exact tests. Results: 76.2% of the students considered that their root canal treatments are not ideal. 46.5% of them stated that they did not perform their treatment ideally in order to complete their internship scores. 49.9% of the students stated that they used a rubber dam routinely, 21.1% sometimes used, and 29% never used. Students who use rotary systems considered that their treatments are required less time and more ideal (p0.05), but students whose internship scores were calculated over the number of canals stated that they were more willing to find root canal variations. Conclusion: Most of the students just before graduation stated that the root canal treatments performed in the endodontics internship were not ideal. It was related to factors such as technical equipment and time rather than self-confidence.
