With the industrial revolution, new business lines and work areas emerged in the world for both men and women. With this formation, the number of men and women involved in the work area increased. Furthermore, with the increase in the level of education, the literacy rate of both men and women increased, and in parallel with this, both men and women gained more place in working life and in various business lines. This change was more significant in women. Women, who only cared for children and did housework such as cooking and cleaning in earlier times, started to take part in various business lines and service areas with this change. With the participation of women in working life in our changing and developing society, it became inevitable for fathers to take responsibility for childcare. The most significant consequence of this change is the fact that fathers take responsibility for childcare and spend more time with their children. The participation of the father in the care is very important in meeting the bio-psycho-socio-cultural needs of the child and in meeting the child's need for play. Moreover, when fathers' participation in childcare is considered as a process, it is very beneficial and important for the mother and the family both in the short term and long term. As a matter of fact, the results of numerous studies on the changing and developing role of the father and fatherhood show how important and beneficial it is for the father to participate in care. The aim of this review is to give information about father's participation in care and its benefits.
