Objective: This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence levels and feeding styles of mothers with 3-6-year-old children. Material and Methods: The study was carried out with 374 mothers who were admitted to a family health center between October 2018 and June 2019, who volunteered to participate in the study and met the research criteria. The data were collected using the personal information form, Emotional Intelligence Scale and Parental Feeding Style Questionnaire. Mean, percentage distributions, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation, independent t-test, and LSD analysis were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: It was determined that there was a significant and positive weak relationship between mothers' emotional intelligence levels and the sub-dimensions of auxiliary feeding at a level of 38% (r=0.380), prompting/encouragement to eat at a level of 11% (r=0.115) and strictly controlled feeding at a level of 18% (r=0.182) and a significant and negative weak relationship between the sub-dimension of tolerant feeding at a level of 10% (r=-0.106) of the overall Emotional Intelligence Scale. Conclusion: It was found out that with an increase in the emotional intelligence level of mothers the auxiliary, encouraging, and strictly controlled feeding styles were adopted while with a decrease in the emotional intelligence level the tolerant feeding style was adopted.
