Turkish Validity and Reliability Study of the E-Health Literacy Scale in University: Methodological Study

ÖZET
Amaç: Bu çalışma, üniversite öğrencilerinde E-Sağlık Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği'nin geçerlilik ve güvenilirliğini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Metodolojik tipte yapılan çalışmanın evrenini 2020-2021 Bahar yarıyılında Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesinde sağlıkla ilgili fakültelerin dışındaki fakültelere kayıtlı öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Çalışmanın örneklemini, dahil edilme kriterlerine uyan ve katılmayı kabul eden 456 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Çalışmanın verileri Aralık 2021-Mayıs 2022 tarihleri arasında çevrim içi olarak toplanmıştır. Ölçeğin kapsam geçerliği için kapsam geçerlik indeksi, yapı geçerliği için açıklayıcı faktör analizi ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi, güvenirliği için Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı, madde-toplam puan analizi, test-tekrar test analizleri yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Ölçeğin Kapsam Geçerlik İndeks puanı 0.96 bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin faktör yapısını belirlemek için yapılan açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda 3 faktör toplam varyansın %62 açıklamıştır. Ölçeğin faktör yükleri 0.49 ile 0.85 arasında değişmiştir. Ölçek maddeleri için madde toplam korelasyoları 0.43 ile 0.77 arasında değişmiştir. Ölçeğin Cronbach alpha güvenilirlik katsayısı 0.82 bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin işlevsel okuryazarlık alt boyutu güvenirlik katsayısı 0.63, okuryazarlık alt boyutu güvenirlik katsayısı 0.77, eleştirel okuryazarlık alt boyutu güvenirlik katsayısı 0.86 bulunmuştur. Test-tekrar test ölçümlerinin ise değişkenlik göstermediği (p>0.05) belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Bu çalışmada, üniversite öğrencilerinde e-Sağlık Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği'nin Türkçe formunun geçerli ve güvenilir olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ölçek, üniversite öğrencilerinin e-sağlık okuryazarlık düzeyini değerlendirmek için kullanılabilir. Gelecek çalışmalarda, ölçeğin farklı gruplar üzerinde geçerlilik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarının yapılması önerilebilir.

ABSTRACT
Objective: This study was conducted to determine the validity and reliability of the E-Health Literacy Scale in university students. Material and Methods: The study, conducted in a methodological design, included students from faculties other than healthrelated faculties at Uludağ University in the 2020-2021 Spring semester. The sample consisted of 456 students who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to participate. Data for the study were collected online between December 2021 and May 2022. Content validity index for the scale's content validity, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis for construct validity, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient for reliability, item-total score analysis, and test-retest analyses were performed. Results: The Content Validity Index for the scale was found to be 0.96. Exploratory factor analysis to determine the factor structure of the scale explained 62% of the total variance with three factors. Factor loadings for the scale ranged from 0.49 to 0.85. Item-total correlations for scale items varied between 0.43 and 0.77. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient for the scale was 0.82. The reliability coefficient for the functional literacy subscale was 0.63, for the literacy subscale was 0.77, and for the critical literacy subscale was 0.86. Test-retest measurements showed no significant variability (p>0.05). Conclusion: In this study, the Turkish version of the E-Health Literacy Scale was found to be valid and reliable in university students. The scale can be used to assess the e-health literacy levels of university students. It is recommended that future studies explore the validity and reliability of the scale on different groups.

1. TERMS OF USE

Being late or failure of performance or non-defaulting of this and similar cases like this will not be the case from the viewpoint of "Turkiye Klinikleri", and "Turkiye Klinikleri" will not have any damage liability for these situations. "Force majeure" term will be regarded as outside of the concerned party's reasonable control and any situation that "Turkiye Klinikleri" cannot prevent even though it shows due diligence. Also, force majeure situations include but not limited to natural disasters, rebellion, war, strike, communication problems, infrastructure and internet failure, power cut and bad weather conditions.

8. LAW AND AUTHORISATION TO FOLLOW

Turkish Law will be applied in practicing, interpreting the hereby "Terms of Use" and managing the emerging legal relationships within this "Terms of Use" in case of finding element of foreignness, except for the rules of Turkish conflict of laws. Ankara Courts and Enforcement Offices are entitled in any controversy happened or may happen due to hereby contract.

9. CLOSING AND AGREEMENT

Hereby "Terms of Use" come into force when announced in the "SITE" by "Turkiye Klinikleri". The users are regarded to agree to hereby contract terms by using the "SITE". "Turkiye Klinikleri" may change the contract terms and the changes will be come into force by specifying the version number and the date of change on time it is published in the "SITE".
