ABSTRACT
Nonpharmacologic methods are used for distraction, pain and stress control in interventional procedures performed on children. In recent studies, the use of technology in pain and stress management is important. With the effect of developing technology, the increase in the use of virtual reality glasses in pain and stress management draws attention. With this review, it is aimed to systematically review the studies evaluating the use of virtual reality glasses in applications related to school age child health and diseases in Türkiye and it is intended to guide other studies to be carried out. In the study, using the keywords ''virtual reality glasses and/or child health'' in Turkish and English, Google Scholar, PubMed, Cochrane Library, National Thesis Center, Magazine Park search engines also search for the end of 2021 year. In order to be able to include them, scanning was carried out starting from October 18, 2021 until December 31, 2021. As a result of the literature search with keywords, 54 studies were reached. Studies were evaluated according to PRISMA criteria. In the analysis, quasi-experimental, experimental and randomized controlled experimental studies were included in the review. Forty-four studies were excluded within the inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, after the selections made according to the title, abstract and full text, 2 articles and 7 theses were evaluated. In the studies discussed in this systematic review, it was concluded that the application of virtual reality glasses, which is one of the methods of distraction during invasive and painful procedures in the field of child health, positively affects children's perception of pain and anxiety.
