Objective: Children between the ages of 8-12 are frequently exposed to dental injuries as a result of falling in the school environment. Early and correct intervention positively affects the prognosis of traumatized teeth. The purpose of this study is evaluate the approaches of primary school teachers in Türkiye regarding dental traumas and especially dental avulsions. Material and Methods: An online survey method was conducted to measure the knowledge level of 690 primary school teachers from all over Türkiye regarding dental injury. The sociodemographic characteristics of participants were collected (gender, age, year of occupation, region of employment) and they were asked to answer a 5-question questionnaire about tooth fracture and avulsion. The obtained survey data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: The study revealed that while the participants have ability to better manage their crown fracture injuries, they may have difficulty in managing avulsion injuries correctly. It was highligted that the rate of correct answers about avulsion injuries was higher among teachers who received training on dental injuries (6.2%) and witnessed dental injuries before (45.4%) (p<0.005). The study concluded that the correct answer rate of the teachers in the survey was 37.3%. Conclusion: The study revealed that the rate of correct answers given by the teachers who participated in our study from all over Türkiye in the questionnaire about dental injury was quite low. In order to bridge this gap, it is important to provide an educational seminar or add to the curriculum for primary school teachers about dental injuries that require immediate intervention.
