Objective: The study was aimed to ensure the Turkish validity and reliability of the Scale of Perception of Sexual Abuse in Sports (SPSAS) by assessing a) the perceived prevalence of sexual abuse, b) the perceived likelihood that a coach is sexual abuse tendency, c) perceptions on how sport organizations should manage the risk of sexual abuse, and d) media influence on participant perception. Material and Methods: Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and reliability analyzes were analyzed using SPSS version 18.0. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin and Bartlett's test of sphericity were first examined to provide assumptions about EFA. In the second analysis part, confirmatory factor analysis procedures with AMOS version 18 for the obtained items and factors were performed through EFA. Results: Experimental evidence on psychometric qualities was revealed through these steps and the SPSAS has been adapted to Turkish culture as 4 dimensions (management, prevalence, ınfluence, and likelihood) and 13 items. Model fit index values determined as χ2/df=1.21, root mean square error of approximation=0.030, Goodness-of-Fit Index=0.95, Normed Fit Index=0.96, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index=0.93 and Comparative Fit Index=0.99. The internal consistency value of the scale was found to be 0.81. Conclusion: In conclusion, we can say that the SPSAS is a valid and reliable measurement tool for individuals. Also in the study; theoretical and practical applications, working limitations and suggestions for future studies were discussed in terms of sexual abuse perception in sport.
