Objective: To evaluate the microleakage of preheated bulk-fill resin composites. Material and Methods: Class II cavities with dimensions of 4x3x2 (heightxwidthxdepth) were prepared in the mesial and distal parts of a total of 50 intact, caries-free human molar teeth. Four different bulk-fill (SonicFill 3, Opus Bulk-Fill APS, Tetric PowerFill, Filtek One Bulk-Fill) and a resin composite (Filtek Z250) used as a control group. Groups were divided into preheated (kept at 68°C in incubator for 10 mins) and room temperature (n=10 each). All samples were subjected to thermal cycles (5-55°C, 1,200) and kept in 0.5% basic fuchsin solution at room temperature for 24 hours. Teeth were split into buccolingual and mesiodistal directions. SEM analysis was done on two samples per group. The other samples were evaluated using the microleakage score method. Statistical analysis employed Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U tests (p<0,05). Results: When the microleakage values of preheated and room temperature resin composites were compared, significant differences were observed in Tetric PowerFill, Filtek OneBulk Fill and Filtek Z250 resin composites (p<0.05). When heated resin composites were compared, the highest value was seen in Filtek One BulkFill, while the lowest value was seen in Tetric PowerFill resin composite group. When room temperature resin composites compared, the highest value was seen in Opus Bulk Fill APS, while the lowest value was seen in the FiltekZ250 resin composite group, which was the control group. Conclusion: Teeth restored with the conventional layering system show less microleakage than the bulk-fill technique. Among the tested materials, preheating negatively affected microleakage values in all resin composites except Opus BulkFill APS.
