Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the staining susceptibility of dental composites after application the different polishing systems. Material and Methods: Two composite resins (Clearfil Majestry Esthetic, Clearfil Majestry Posterior) were used for this study. Fourty composite resin disks (8 mmx2 mm) were prepared from each material. Specimens were divided four subgroups and polished with three different polishing systems (Sof-lex, Onegloss and Enhance). Other group was used as control group (n=10). Specimens were stored in distilled water for 24 hours and then, baseline color changes were measured with spectrophotometer. Afterwards, specimens were immersed in coffee and tea for 1 week in each (3 h/day). Color changes were remeasured with spectrophotometer after 14 days of the immersion. Data were analyzed by one way ANOVA, post-hoc Tukey HSD test (p<0.05 was considered statistically significant). Results: Although there are no statistically significant difference among polishing groups for anterior composite resin (p>0.05), it was founded statistically significant difference among polishing groups for posterior composite resin (p<0.05). The lowest ΔE value was found in Posterior Enhance group but the highest ΔE value was found in Posterior OneGloss. When comparing the restorative materials, posterior composite resin showed more color change than anterior composite resin (p<0.05). Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, we can say that the staining susceptibility of composite resins changes according to composite resins and polishing systems, but OneGloss polishing system is the most unsuccesfull among polishing systems.
