Objective: This study was conducted as a descriptive study in order to determine the relationship between the levels of alexithymia and psychological well-being in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy treatment. Material and Methods: In this research, a descriptive and relational design was used. The sample of the study consisted of 151 patients who received outpatient chemotherapy treatment in a training and research hospital between the dates of July 2022- October 2022. The data were collected through the Patient Information Form, Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), and Psychological WellBeing Scale (PWBS). Descriptive statistics and Kruskal-Wallis, and Spearman's Correlation tests were used for data evaluation. Results: It was determined that the average age of the patients receiving chemotherapy was 59.26±11.24 years, 51% of them were female, and 78.8% of them were unemployed. It was also determined that 23.8% of the patients had breast cancer and 53% of them had a diagnosis of chronic disease. The overall average score of the patients on the PWBS was 48.44±6.76 while it was 44.70±7.51 on the TAS-20. It was also determined that there was a moderate negative relationship between PWBS and TAS-20. In addition, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between PWBS and TAS-20 according to the metastasis status of the patients. Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that the psychological well-being levels of cancer patients who received chemotherapy were high and their alexithymia levels were low. In addition, it was determined that as the psychological well-being levels of the patients increased, their alexithymia levels decreased.
