Amaç: Karabük ilinde kamu hastanelerinde, özel kliniklerde ve üniversite hastanesinde görev yapan diş hekimlerinin, tükenmişlik ve iş doyum düzeylerinin kıyaslanması amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma evrenini, Karabük ilinde kamu hastanelerinde, özel kliniklerde ve üniversite hastanesinde çalışan diş hekimleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma örneklemini ise araştırmaya dâhil olan 107 (42 erkek, 65 kadın) diş hekimi oluşturmaktadır. Sosyodemografik bilgi formu, Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği ve Minnesota İş Doyumu Ölçeğinden oluşan anket, katılımcılara uygulanmış ve parametrik hipotez testleri kullanılarak veriler test edilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan toplam 107 (42 erkek, 65 kadın) diş hekiminin yaş ortalaması 32,21±8,33 olarak bulunmuştur. Duygusal tükenme (DT) ve duyarsızlaşma alt ölçekleri açısından diş hekimlerinin sırasıyla %63,6'sında ve %52,3'ünde yüksek tükenmişlik olduğu saptanmıştır. Kişisel başarı (KB) alt ölçeği açısından diş hekimlerinin %54,2'sinde yüksek düzeyde tükenmişlik saptanmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan hekimlerin %24,3'ünde düşük iş doyum seviyesi, %21,5'inde nötr iş doyum seviyesi, %54,2'sinde ise yüksek iş doyum seviyesi tespit edilmiştir. Kamuda çalışan diş hekimlerinde DT ortalamaları diğer gruplara göre yüksek bulunmuştur. KB ve iş doyum düzeyleri en yüksek bulunan grup ise özel kliniklerde çalışan diş hekimleridir. Sonuç: Mesleki tükenmişliğin önlenmesi, iş doyumunun sağlanması ve artırılması, diş hekimleri açısından son derece önemlidir. Bu amaçla diş hekimlerine düşen hasta sayılarının azaltılması, çalışma şartlarının fiziki ve manevi olarak iyileştirilmesi alternatif bir öneri olarak düşünülebilir.

Objective: It is aimed to compare the burnout and job satisfaction levels of dentists working in the public hospital, private clinics and university hospital in Karabük province. Material and Methods: The study population consists of dentists working in public hospital, private clinics and university hospital in Karabük province. The study sample consists of 107 (42 men, 65 women) dentists included in the research. The questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic information form, Maslach Burnout Inventory, and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire was applied to the participants and the data were tested using parametric hypothesis tests. Results: The average age of 107 (42 males, 65 females) dentists participating in the study was found to be 32.21±8.33. According to Depersonalization and emotional exhaustion (EE) subscales, respectively 63.6% and 52.3% of dentists are found at high burnout levels. In terms of personal accomplishment (PA) subscale, high burnout was found in 54.2% of dentists. The low level of job satisfaction in 24.3% of the physicians participating in the study, the level of neutral job satisfaction in 21.5% and the high level of job satisfaction in 54.2% have been identified. EE averages were higher in dentists working in the public hospital compared to other groups. The group with the highest PA and job satisfaction levels is dentists working in the private clinics. Conclusion: Prevention of occupational burnout and ensuring and increasing job satisfaction is extremely important for dentists. For this purpose, reducing the number of patients falling to dentists and improving the working conditions physically and spiritually can be considered as an alternative suggestion.
