Material and Methods: This was a descriptive study including a total of 312 nursing students who had accepted to participate in the study. The data were collected between February-March 2018 via Socio-Demographic Characteristics Form and the Ageism Attitude Scale (AAS). Data were collected by researcher. Descriptive statistics (Frequency, mean, standard deviation), student's t-test, One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis tests were used to analyze the data. Results: The total AAS score of the students was 85.18±7.99 and the subscale scores; restricting life of the elderly was 37.11±3.95, positive ageism for the elderly was 31.35±4.80 and negative ageism for the elderly was 16.70±3.27. Statistically significant differences were found between gender and all AAS total and subscale scores, mother working status and restricting life of elderly, desire to work with elderly after graduation and restricting life of elderly, positive ageism for the elderly and ASS total scores (p<0.05). Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that students' attitudes towards ageism were positive and these attitudes were influenced by gender, mother working status and desire to work with elderly after graduation. In order to ensure the continuity of positive attitudes towards ageism, the interventional studies are recommeded.
