ABSTRACT
Objective: This research was conducted to determine the relationship between nurses' nomophobia levels and their social well-being. Material and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted between February 2020-February 2021 in a public hospital in Ankara. The research was conducted with 285 nurses. Data were collected using the ''Personal Information Form'', ''The Nomophobia Questionnaire'' and ''Social Well Being Scale-Healthcare Professionals Version''. Statistical analyzes were obtained using SPSS 11.5 program. In the descriptive study, mean±standard deviation and median (minimum-maximum) were used for quantitative variables, and percentage was used for discrete variables. Results: It was determined that the nurses' nomophobia levels were moderate, and their social wellbeing levels were above the average. A negative correlation was found between the levels of nomophobia and social well-being of nurses. A statistically significant relationship was found between the ''Social Acceptance'' sub-dimension and the ''Losing Online Connection'' sub-dimension mean score, between the ''Confidence'' sub-dimension and the ''Nomophobia Scale'' total score, and between social well-being and the ''Losing Online Connection'' sub-dimension. Conclusion: It was determined that as the level of nomophobia of nurses increased, their social well-being was negatively affected. It is thought that increasing nomophobic behaviors may affect the well-being of the person both in business life and in the social environment. In this direction, it is recommended to carry out in-service trainings that raise awareness in order to reduce the level of nomophobia, and to determine the social needs of nurses working in a multidisciplinary team in the working environment and to carry out additional studies to improve social well-being.
