According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-V, a specific fear or anxiety about a particular object or situation is called specific phobia. Specific phobia is a common disease but usually patients do not seek help because patient is completely normal when he does not experience the stimulus situation. On the other hand hypnosis is the acceptance of an acceptable selective thought in the subconscious and it is used frequently in phobic disorders. A person's hypnotic susceptibility plays an important role in the effectiveness of hypnosis, but it's not sufficient alone. The patient's expectation from hypnosis also plays an important role in the success of the treatment. In this study, two patients with specific phobia are presented whose hypnotic susceptibility and sociocultural characteristics are similar, both applied similar hypnosis techniques by the same practitioner but treatment responses are very different from each other.
