Amaç: Uyku, günlük yaşam aktivitelerinin sağlıklı bir şekilde gerçekleştirilmesi için önemli bir fizyolojik ihtiyaçtır. Bu nedenle iyi bir uyku kalitesi önem arz etmektedir. İyi bir uyku kalitesi, gündüz gerçekleştirilen okupasyonlara katılım için önemlidir. Ancak bu durum için sağlıklı popülasyonda ergoterapinin rolü araştırılmamıştır. Bu çalışmada, iyi ve zayıf uyku kalitesine sahip sağlıklı bireylerin okupasyonel yeterliliklerinin ve öneminin karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Pittsburgh Uyku Kalitesi İndeksi (PUKİ) ile toplam 345 katılımcı değerlendirildi. PUKİ sonuçlarına göre katılımcılar, iyi uyuyanlar (n=146) ve zayıf uyuyanlar (n=199) olmak üzere 2 gruba ayrıldı. Aktivite Öz-Değerlendirme Ölçeği (AÖDÖ) ile katılımcıların okupasyonel yeterliliği ve önemi belirlendi. Bulgular: İyi uyku kalitesine sahip bireyler ile kötü uyku kalitesine sahip bireyler karşılaştırıldığında, kötü uyku kalitesine sahip bireylerde okupasyonel yeterlilik ve önem anlamlı olarak daha düşük bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Kötü uyku kalitesine sahip bireyler tarafından AÖDÖ'ye göre en çok etkilenen parametreler incelendiğinde; 'Yaptığım işlere yoğunlaşmak', 'Fiziksel olarak yapmam gerekenleri yapabilmek', 'Memnun edici bir rutine sahip olmak' ve 'Hoşlandığım aktiviteleri yapmak' maddeleri olduğu belirlendi. Sonuç: Kötü uyku kalitesine sahip sağlıklı bireylerin, iyi uyku kalitesine sahip sağlık bireylere göre okupasyonel yeterliliğin ve önemin daha kötü düzeyde olduğu belirlendi. Kötü uyku kalitesine sahip sağlıklı bireylerin okupasyonel yeterliliğinin ve öneminin değerlendirilmesi, okupasyonel sorun alanlarının belirlenmesi ve uygun müdahale programlarının oluşturulması için önemlidir.

Objective: Sleep is an important physiological need for the healthy performance of activities of daily living. Therefore, a good sleep quality is important. Good sleep quality is important for participation in daytime observations. However, the role of occupational therapy for this condition in the healthy population has not been investigated. This study aimed to compare the occupational competence and value of healthy individuals with good and poor sleep quality. Material and Methods: A total of 345 participants were evaluated with a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Participants divided into 2 groups good sleeper (n=146) and poor sleeper (n=199) according to PSQI results. Occupational competence and value of participants evaluated with the Occupational Self-Assessment (OSA). Results: Occupational competence and value significantly lower in poor sleepers when compared with good sleepers (p<0.05). When the most affected parameters according to OSA were examined by individuals with poor sleep quality; it was determined that the items were 'Concentrating on my tasks', 'Physically doing what I need to do', 'Having a satisfying routine' and 'Doing activities I like.' Conclusion: It was determined that healthy individuals with poor sleep quality had a worse level of occupational competence and value than healthy individuals with good sleep quality. Evaluation of the occupational competence and value of healthy individuals with poor sleep quality is important for determining occupational performance problem areas and establishing appropriate intervention programs.
