Objective: This study aimed to perform a holistic and interdisciplinary evaluation of postgraduate theses in Turkey examining maternal mental health in the postpartum period while also seeking to contribute to the postgraduate studies to be carried out for similar purposes in the future in terms of method and variables examined. Material and Methods: The study is a systematic review by design. A literature review was conducted via the database of the 'National Thesis Center' between 22 October 2020 and 5 November 2020 with the following three keywords: 'postpartum period,' 'postpartum period,' and 'postpartum.' Twenty-five graduate theses, which were agreed on by the researchers that they met the inclusion criteria, were included in the study, and a descriptive analysis was performed on these theses. Results: It was determined that postgraduate theses in Turkey written between the years 2005-2020 on maternal mental health in the postpartum period were performed in the fields of nursing (n=14), medicine (n=3), midwifery (n=6), and physiotherapy and rehabilitation (n=1), with most of these theses being at the master's degree level (n=18). It was determined that the majority of the related theses were performed using the descriptive method (n=16), that the 'Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale' was frequently used as the data collection tool, and that the psychological variables of 'depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, fear, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, maternal attachment' were addressed in these studies. Conclusion: It was determined that problems related to maternal mental health such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, phobic anxiety in the postpartum period were detected. For this reason, awareness studies that focus on psychoeducation, group counseling, and providing coping skills, experimental studies that emphasize antenatal interventions such as yoga and Pilates, and qualitative studies that will help pregnant women to better understand their emotional changes are recommended.
