Objective: The purpose of this research, investigating the relationship of high school students' tendency to the exercise stages of change, social appearance anxiety and self-efficacy. Material and Methods: The sample of the study consists of 1,072 students, whose 495 (46.2%) were female and 577 (53.8%) were male, educated in high schools. Total average age of the participants was calculated as 16.16 (±1.21). In the study 'personal information form, Exercise Stages of Change Questionnaire, Self Efficacy Scale for Children and Social Apperance Anxiety Scale were used as data collection tool. In the analysis of data besides descriptive statistics, Pearson chi-square test and Spearman correlation are used. Results: Based on the research results, meaningful differences are found in exercise behavior changes for gender and grade level. Moreover, a meaningful relation between exercise behavior changes in secondary school students and social appearance anxiety and self-efficacy is found. Conclusion: It is determined that female students are more continuity than male students in exercise behavior changes in respect to gender independent variable. When grade level independent variable is considered, it is seen a decline in joining active exercise starting from 9. grade to upper education and training grades. Furthermore, while a negative directional meaningful relation is found between exercise behavior changes and social appearance anxiety of secondary school students, a positive directional meaningful relation is determined between exercise behavior changes and self-efficacy level.
