Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, sağlıklı genç erkeklerde diz çevresi tendon ve kas sertliği ile diz ekstansiyon kuvveti ve enduransı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu çalışma, 19-35 yaş aralığında 33 sağlıklı genç erkeğin katılımıyla gerçekleşti. Çalışma kapsamında rektus femoris kası, vastus medialis oblikus kası, kuadriseps tendonu ve patellar tendona ait sertlik ölçümleri ACUSON S3000 ultrasonografi cihazı ve özel bir yazılım (Virtual Touch Imaging and Quantification; Siemens Medical Solution; Mountain View, CA, ABD) kullanılarak yapıldı. Bireylerin 60??/sn ve 180??/sn açısal hızda, konstrantik diz ekstansiyon kuvvet ve endurans ölçümleri Biodex Sistem 4® (Biodex Corp, Shirley, NY, ABD) kullanılarak yapıldı. Bulgular: Değerlendirilen kas ve tendon sertliği değerleri ile 60º/sn'de tepe tork ve tepe tork/vücut ağırlığı ve 180??/sn toplam iş değerleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı bulundu (p>0,05). Patellar tendon sertliğinin kuadriseps tendon sertliğinden daha fazla olduğu bulundu (p<0,001). Bunun yanı sıra vastus medialis oblikus kas sertliği ise rektus femoris kas sertliğinden daha fazlaydı (p=0,017). Sonuç: Elde edilen sonuçlar diz çevresi tendon ve kas sertliği ile konsantrik kas kuvveti ve enduransı arasında ilişki olmadığını göstermektedir. Bunun yanı sıra patellar tendon sertliğinin kuadriseps tendonuna göre, vastus medialis oblikus kas sertliğinin ise rektus femoris kas sertliğine göre daha fazla olduğu bulundu.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between stiffness of tendon and muscle around the knee with knee extension strength and endurance in healthy young males. Material and Methods: The study was conducted with 33 healthy young males between the ages of 19-35 years. The stiffness of rectus femoris muscle, vastus medialis obliquus muscle, quadriceps tendon and patellar tendon was measured with ACUSON S3000 ultrasonography devise and a customized software program (Virtual Touch Imaging and Quantification; Siemens Medical Solution, Mountain View, CA, USA). Concentric knee extension muscle strength and endurance of individuals was measured with Biodex System 4?¨ in 60??/s and 180??/s velocity (Biodex Corp, Shirley, NY, USA). Results: It was found that there was no significant correlation between assessed muscle and tendon stiffness with peak tork and peak tork/body mass in 60??/s velocity and total work in 180??/s velocity (p>0.05). Patellar tendon had higher stiffness compared quadriceps tendon (p<0.001). In addition, vastus medialis obliquus muscle stiffness was higher than rectus femoris muscle (p=0.017). Conclusion: Obtained results suggest that stiffness of muscle and tendon around the knee is not related the concentric muscle strength and muscle endurance. In addition, it was found that patellar tendon stiffness was higher compared to quadriceps tendon, while vastus medialis obliquus stiffness was higher than rectus femoris stiffness.
