Despite the increasing number of researches on cancer that have increased worldwide, like an epidemic; there has not been sufficient progress in palliative care. Conditions that require palliation are frequently seen; nausea, vomiting, pain, anxiety disorders, sleep problems and hot flushes. Although conventional therapies have achieved successful results, the number of unsuccessful cases is significant. In addition, it is quite high that these symptoms are insufficient to completely relieve them. Multiple drug applications are also used in palliative treatment. Drug interaction, frequently released as a result of combined medication, can be another problem. Hypnosis, which is a method that is suggested by going down to the person's subconscious, is a hope for palliative care in cancer patients. Pain palliation with hypnosis, treatment of nausea and vomiting, relief of anxiety and sleep disorders, prevention of hot flashes are the treatments that have been shown many times in the literature. Hypnotherapy, which can be applied as an alternative or a combined treatment with conventional therapy, provides both to alleviate the suffering of the patient and to increase the possibilities of the physician. In addition, hypnotherapy expects to be used and spread to prevent problems caused by polypharmacy. Through this review, it is aimed to increase awareness in the field of palliation in cancer where hypnosis is effective. In this way, the application of hypnotherapy in clinical applications will increase even more; thus, financial gains from clinical achievements will contribute to the economies of the countries while more data will be revealed in the scientific field.
