Amaç: Bu in vitro çalışmanın amacı; farklı tam seramik sistemlerde yüzey pürüzlülüğü ve Streptococcus mutans adezyonunun incelenmesidir.

Objective: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the surface roughness and Streptococcus mutans adhesion in different all ceramic systems. Material and Methods: A total of 54 cylindrical test specimens were prepared using 6 different CAD-CAM blocks [Vita Mark II (VMII), IPS e-max CAD (IPS), Vita Enamic (VE), Lava Ultimate (LU), Vita Suprinity (VS) and Vita YZ ST (YZ-ST)] with a diameter of 10.0 mm and a thickness of 2.0±0.3 mm. The surface roughness of the specimens was measured by a profilometer. Subsequently, the sterilized specimens were coated with mucin-containing artificial saliva to form the pellicle layer, and then the 24-hour S. Mutans adhesion was tested. The obtained data were statistically compared using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey HSD posthoc tests. Statistical significance was set at p<.05. Results: The highest mean surface roughness was obtained in the YZ-ST group (2.07±0.71 μm) while the lowest surface roughness was found in the LU group (0.39±0.15 μm). The surface roughness findings of different all ceramic systems was as YZ-ST> VMII> IPS> VS> VE> LU. The highest bacterial adhesion was found in the YZ-ST group and the lowest bacterial adhesion was seen in the VE group. Similar bacterial adhesion values were determined between VE, LU and IPS groups (p>.05). Conclusion: The selected all ceramic restorative material option may affect the surface roughness and bacterial adhesion values of the restorations.
