Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı, erişkin bireylerde kor kas enduransı ile alt ekstremite performansı ve yürüme hızı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesiydi. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya 122 erişkin birey (yaş=23,38±5,85 yıl, beden kitle indeksi=22,68±4,03 kg/m2 ) dâhil edildi. Kor kas enduransı McGill'in gövde kas endurans testleri ile alt ekstremite performansı Y denge ve tek ayak üzerinde çömelme testi ile yürüme hızı 10 m yürüyüş testi ile değerlendirildi. Analiz için Spearman korelasyon testi ve Mann-Whitney U testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Gövde ekstansör, fleksör, sağ ve sol lateral fleksör endurans skorları ile dominant taraf alt ekstremite Y denge skorları arasında aynı yönlü ve anlamlı ilişki olduğu görüldü (sırasıyla r=0,208, r=0,315, r=0,388, r=0,406; p<0,05). Gövde ekstansör, fleksör, sağ ve sol lateral endurans skorları ile dominant olmayan taraf alt ekstremite Y denge skorları arasında aynı yönlü ve anlamlı ilişki olduğu bulundu (sırasıyla r=0,338, r=0,400, r=0,406, r=0,396; p<0,05). Kor endurans skorları ile yürüme hızı skorları arasında anlamlı ilişki yoktu (p>0,05). Dominant taraf tek ayak çömelme performansına göre ''zayıf'' ve ''orta'' olan bireyler arasında sadece gövde fleksör endurans skorları (p=0,039) arasında bir anlamlı fark vardı, diğer kor endurans skorları ile ilgili bir fark yoktu (p>0,05). Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre erişkin bireylerde kor enduransının artması ile alt ekstremite performansının arttığı görüldü. Ancak kor endurans ile yürüme hızı arasında bir ilişki yoktu. Alt ekstremite rehabilitasyon uygulamalarında bu konunun dikkate alınması önemli olabilir.

Objective: The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between core muscle endurance, lower extremity performance and walking speed in adult individuals. Material and Methods: In the study, 122 adult individuals (age=23.38±5.85 years, body mass index=22.68±4.03 kg/m2 ) were included. Core muscle endurance with McGill's trunk muscle endurance tests, lower extremity performance with Y balance and single leg squat tests, and walking speed with 10- meter walk test. Spearman correlation test and Mann-Whitney U test were used for analysis. Results: It was observed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the trunk extensor, flexor, right and left lateral flexor endurance scores and the dominant side lower Y balance scores (r=0.208, r=0.315, r=0.388, r=0.406, respectively; p<0.05). It was found that there was a similar and significant relationship between trunk extensor, flexor, right and left lateral endurance scores and the non-dominant side Y balance scores (r=0.338, r=0.400, r=0.406, r=0.396, respectively; p<0.05). There was no significant relationship between core endurance scores and walking speed scores (p>0.05). There was a significant difference only in trunk flexor endurance scores (p=0.039) between individuals whose dominant side single leg squat performance is ''poor'' and ''fair'', but there was no difference in other core endurance scores (p>0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it was observed that lower extremity performance increased with increasing core endurance in adult individuals. However, there was no relationship between core endurance and walking speed. It may be important to consider this issue in lower extremity rehabilitation practices.
