Objective: In recent years, single-file systems using with reciprocating motion have become popular in endodontics. The amount of apically extruded debris may vary depending on the file systems' design. The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the amount of apically extruded debris during root canal preparation of Scope Reciproc, T-Endo MUST, EndoART Reciproc, and WaveOne Gold file systems operating in the reciprocating mode. Material and Methods: The mesiobuccal roots of 60 extracted mandibular molar teeth were used in this study. The teeth were randomly divided into 4 groups of 15 teeth each. Root canals were prepared with an apical diameter of #25 using Scope Reciproc, T-Endo MUST, EndoART Reciproc, and WaveOne Gold file systems. Distilled water was used as an irrigation solution. Debris apically extruded during instrumentation was collected in pre-weighed Eppendorf tubes. The Eppendorf tubes were then stored in an incubator at 70 °C for 5 days. After drying, the average weight of debris was assessed using a microbalance. The weight of extruded debris is determined by subtracting the empty tube's weight from the filled tube's weight. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance test. Results: There was no statistical difference among the 4 different file systems (p>0.05). Conclusion: All file systems caused apical debris extrusion. All file systems resulted in a similar amount of apically extruded debris.
