Objective: This study is a randomized controlled study to examine the effects of hot showers and progressive muscle relaxation exercises (PMRE) during labor on labor pain, labor duration, fatigue, and birth comfort. Material and Methods: The sample of the study consisted of 150 primiparous pregnant women. The study consisted of three groups: hot shower (n=50), PMRE (n=50), and control group (n=50). Data were collected using the ''Personal Information Form'', ''Labor and Post-Labor Monitoring Form'', ''Visual Analog Scale (VAS)'', ''Similar Visuality Scale for Fatigue'' and ''Birth Comfort Scale''. Chi-Square and Fisher's exact test, one-way analysis of variance and complementary post hoc analysis (Tukey, LCD), t-test, and complementary Bonferroni test were used to analyze the data. Results: The average age of the pregnant women participating in the study was 23.66±3.23. Post-application VAS measurements of the hot shower and relaxation groups were statistically lower than the control group (p<0.001). The duration of the first, second, third, and fourth stages of labor did not show a significant difference between the groups (p>0.05). Fatigue level measurements of hot shower and relaxation groups were lower than the control group at the 60th minute after application (p<0.001). The birth comfort level of the intervention groups was statistically significantly higher than the control group (p=0.034). Conclusions: As a result of the study, it was determined that hot shower and PMRE practices during labor contributed positively to coping with labor pain, reducing fatigue, and increasing birth comfort, but neither method affected the duration of birth.
