Jaw fractures represent an important part of pediatric facial fractures. The most common mandible fracture site in children is the condyle, followed by the symphysis area. Although mandibular fractures are seen less frequently in children than adults, symphysis fractures are more common in children. The main reason for this is that the canine buds developing at the lower border of the mandible create a stress point that tends to break. Management of the mandible fracture may be more complicated due to different anatomical structures, the presence of permanent tooth buds, the continuation of growth and development, and the difficulty of cooperating with the child, and it differs from adults. Therefore, instead of open reduction and rigid fixation including screws and plates used in the treatment of adults, more conservative treatment options are emphasized in children. In this case report, a 4-year-old male patient with fracture of the mandibular symphysis is presented with successful treatment with acrylic occlusal splint as a noninvasive method.
