Her birinde 24 örnek bulunan 2 deney grubu oluşturuldu.

Objective: The purpose of our study, to evaluate the fracture strength and repairability of restorations with glass fiber post and polyethylene fiber in maxillary central teeth with coronal tooth structure loss. Material and Methods: The 48 maxillary central teeth's coronal segments that included in the study were removed at different levels according to the cement enamel junction. After the canal length was determined, the root canals prepared with Protaper Universal F5 and filled with suitable gutta. In the glass fiber group (n=24) and the polyethylene-fiber group (n=24), 9 mm and 2 mm gutta percha were removed, respectively and fibers were placed. The restoration was completed and the samples were placed in acrylic blocks. A force was applied to the specimens at a speed of 0.5 mm/min in a universal test device (AG-5 kNG, Shimadzu, Tokyo, Japan) and at an angle of 45ºdegrees from the palatinal surface to the long axis of the root. Data were analyzed using the t-test (p=0.05). Results: The average fracture resistance in the glass fiber group was 430±112 N, and 364±154 N in the polyethylene-fiber group. Catastrophic fractures occurred in 7 and 13 teeth in the glass fiber group and the polyethylene fiber group, respectively. On the other hand, non-catastropic fractures were observed in 17 teeth in the glass fiber group and 11 teeth in the polyethylene fiber group. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the type of post-core system used for restoration in the anterior region changes the fracture resistance of teeth, this difference is not statistically significant (p>0.05). The repairability of the fractures in the teeth with glass fiber is higher than other group.
