The aim of this study is to systematically examine studies on the effect of whole body vibration application on physical functions and application methods in older people. This study was prepared according to the systematic review and meta-analysis study guide PRISMA-P (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols). By using national and international electronic databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Science Direct, CINAHL and ULAKBİM Turkish Medical Directory), studies conducted between the last 2010-2020 years were searched without language limitation. While searching Turkish databases, "whole body vibration", "vibration", "older", "geriatrics", "old age" and, "body vibration" for international databases. The keywords 'vibration','older','older','geriatrics','aging' are used. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established by taking PICOS criteria into account. Studies were evaluated with the PEDro scale in terms of methodological quality. Eight randomized controlled trials deemed appropriate have been reviewed. According to the results of the study, it was seen that whole body vibration application provided significant benefits in functional performance, muscle strength and balance compared to the control group, but it was not effective in bone mineral content and density, fall risk and number. It is thought that whole body vibration practice can improve functional performance, muscle strength and balance compared to a control group and a safe and preferable practice as a passive exercise for older individuals who have physical movement restrictions or do not want to perform it
