Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of sports on the development of static balance performance in 13-15 age group of female athletes. Material and Methods: 20 volunteer licensed female athletes participated the study of those ten of them were judo team and ten of them were volleyball team. Participants were divided into two groups according to sports branches. Static equilibrium measurements of volunteers participating in the study were made with a pedobarograph. When equilibrium measurements were made it was noted that the participants were not tired. The measurement was initiated once the volunteer pedobarography platform reached and stabilized. The measurement was made for 30 seconds and 50 Hz frekans. The tests were performed with doublelegged eyes open, dominant legged eyes open and double-legged eyes closed. The obtained sway area (Area), sway distance (Dist), sway variance (Var), front-back sway deviation (APexc) and right-left sway deviation (LRexc) data were analyzed in the SPSS 15.0 program. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was carried out to determine whether the groups were normally distributed. The Mann-Whitney U test, a non-parametric test, was used to compare independent variables with no normal distribution. An interpretation of the results was considered p<0.05 significant. Results: Among the demographic data of the two groups, only the length of volleyball players was found to be longer. Static equilibrium measurements showed that the judo group performed well only in the eyes closed, Dist and Var parameters were significantly better than the volleyball group. Conclusion: According to the data, it can be said that judo athletes are less dependent on the sense of sight in terms of static equilibrium than volleyball players. However, in this age group, we can say that the training intensity and techniques applied to judo and volleyball sports in female athletes do not make a meaningful difference in the effect on balance development.
