Trauma, which is a psychological response to negative life experiences, damages the individual's psychological well-being, social adaptation and daily life if not intervened in. For this reason, the treatment of the individuals who exposed to a traumatic life experience have great importance. Several treatment approaches for trauma have been developed. One of them is the somatic experiencing method developed by Levine. According to Levine, our body is the carrier of all the impulses arising from emotions and senses. Trauma experiences reduce the carrying capacity of our body. The main purpose of the somatic experiencing method is to re-expand the carrying capacity of the body. When we look at the literature, it is seen that Turkish literature is inadequate about this method. For this reason, this article aims to answer this need.
