Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the sexual functions of partners before and after the transobturator tape procedure using the Female Sexual Function Index. Material and Methods Tension-free transobturator tape procedure was performed on 78 sexually active women who presented with the complaint of stress urinary incontinence between March 2017-July 2020. All subjects included in the study were sexually active and were asked to complete the Female Sexual Function Index before surgery and at 6- month follow-up. The 19-item Female Sexual Function Index questionnaires revealed sexual function, including desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain. Postoperative complications were also recorded. Results: The mean age of women was 50.4±5.7. Preoperative median total Female Sexual Function Index score and postoperative median total Female Sexual Function Index score were similar (21.1 vs. 22.5; p=0.100). Although the pre-op and post-op median arousal, lubrication and pain scores did not show a significant difference (p>0.05 for all), the post-operative median satisfaction (3.6 vs. 2.4) and orgasm scores (4.0 vs. 3.6) were significantly higher than the preoperative scores (p<0.001 for both). The median desire score was significantly lower postoperatively (4.2 vs. 3.6; p=0.006). Conclusion: The transobturator tape procedure has a positive effect on sexual function, especially on satisfaction and orgasm scores, and improves the quality of life by correcting the patient's urinary incontinence.
