Objective: Traumatic dental injuries (TDI) are among the most common dental problems in primary, mix and permanent dentition. The aim of this study is to retrospectively evaluate the data of pediatric patients who applied to Ordu University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Pediatric Dentistry due to TDI in primary dentition. Material and Methods: Digital trauma records of pediatric patients who applied to our faculty due to TDI in primary dentition between January 2013 and January 2022 were examined retrospectively. The type of dental trauma and associated factors were evaluated. Results: Primary dentition trauma records of 160 patients [64 girls (40%), 96 boys (60%), mean age 3.08±1.73 years (minimum 1-maximum 6 age)] were determined. The most common cause of TDI was ''falling'' (53.1%, 85 patients) and the most common type of trauma was ''intrusion'' (23.8%, 71 teeth) and ''lateral luxation'' (23.4%, 70 teeth). It was determined that the teeth most affected by dental trauma were the maxillary middle incisors (51 number 36.8% and 61 number 37.5%). It was determined that TDI occur mostly in summer (31.9%). Only 50.6% of the patients (81 patients) applied to our clinic within the first 24 hours after the trauma. Conclusion: TDI are common in pre-school children in primary dentition. For an accurate treatment planning, parents and teachers should be informed about what to do in case of traumatic injury to primary dentition and the importance of seeking a dentist immediately after dental trauma.
