Objective: Examining individual's motivation with regard to charity sport events which encourage social solidarity by enabling individuals to take action through sport is of great importance. In this sense, the aim of this research is the adaptation of the Motivation for Charity Sport Event Participation Scale into Turkish language and culture. Material and Methods: Data were collected from 214 Turkish charity runners who participate in Garmin Runfire Salt Lake Ultra Trail in 2019. 140 (65.4%) of the participants were men and 74 (34.6%) of them were women. In addition to exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), convergent validity and concurrent validity analyzes were also included in this study to evaluate the scale. For the reliability of the scale and the subscales, the internal consistency coefficients were calculated. Results: After the EFA the scale was found to have four factors. The four-factor structure explained 75.57% of the total variance. CFA results supported the four-factor structure. According to CFA, the model was found in acceptable theresholds (χ2 =82,066; df=59; χ2 /df=1,39; GFI=0,92; CFI=0,97; RMSEA=0,055; TLI=0,96). In addition, it was found that both average variance extracted and composite reliability values were above the recommended thresholds for all subscales. Therefore, it can be stated that convergent validity was achieved for the scale. Total reliability score of the scale was found as 0.85. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the sub-scales ranged between 0.78 and 0.89. Conclusion: As a result of the analysis, the scale has dropped from the five-factor structure to the four-factor structure. Number of items decreased from 16 to 13. SYEKMÖ, which has been adapted to Turkish culture, was considered to be a valid and reliable measurement tool.
