Objective: The success of athletes is closely related to training and recovery. For this reason, it is important that athletes have information about recovery. There is no study in the literature that directly measures the recovery knowledge of athletes. The aim of the study is to develop a validity and reliable recovery knowledge test which can be used to measure the recovery knowledge of Turkish athletes. Material and Methods: For this purpose, a 42 test items were formed, which measured the recovery level in sports, was prepared in accordance with the table of specification created after the literature research. Prepared test form was applied to 159 licensed male and female athletes aged 18-30 years in Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Sport Sciences, Coaching Education, Recreation and Physical Education and Sports Teaching departments. Before the study, participants were informed about the purpose of the study and volunteering was taken as a basis for study. The item analyzes (item difficulty index, item discrimination index, item standard deviation and item reliability) of this test were calculated according to test development techniques. Results: As a result of the item analysis, 14 suitable items were selected and a final test was formed. The arithmetic mean of the final test was x=8.80, the Standard deviation was 3.48, the average difficult of the test was 0.62 and the KR-20 reliability coefficient was 0.80. Conclusion: It can be said that the 'Sport Recovery Knowledge Test' which prepared in accordance with test development techniques is a multiple four choices test for measuring the recovery knowledge level of the athletes and the test is easy, valid and reliable and sufficiently distinguishable between those who know and those who do not.
