Objective: Comprehensive functional movement patterns and dynamic balance tests are used to estimate damage in injuries. One of these tests is the upper extremity Y balance test, a clinical test of closed kinetic chain performance. The aim of the study was to examine the difference between Y balance test (YBT) scores in upper extremity in healthy women and women volleyball player. Material and Methods: The study included 60 women with a mean age of 19.23 ±2.11 (30 healthy individuals, 30 volleyball players). Age, height, weight, body mass index and upper extremity length of the individuals were recorded. YBT was used to evaluate the dynamic balance of the upper extremity of the individuals. Results: When the groups were compared in terms of upper extremity lengths, YBT medial, inferolateral and superolateral directions and total score, statistically significant difference was found in favor of the athlete group. In the healthy group, a statistically significant difference was found in the inferomedial direction of the YBT in favor of tle right side; in the superolateral direction, in favor of the left side. In terms of the upper extremity length of volleyball players in favor of the left side; a statistically significant difference was found in favor of the left side in the medial direction of the YBT. Conclusion: According to the results of our study, it was seen that volleyball players had better dynamic balance of upper extremity than healthy individuals. According to our results, we think that YBT is an effective method in determining upper extremity dynamic balance and upper and lower extremity dynamic balance evaluation should be added before and after rehabilitation programs.
