Objective: To evaluate vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, iron, total iron binding capacity (TIBC), unsaturated iron binding capacity (UIBC), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) levels in patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PES) or glaucoma (PEG) and to compare with a healthy control group of similar age and gender without pseudoexfoliation. Material and Methods: This retrospective study included 64 PES/PEG patients who applied to the Sultan Abdülhamid Han Training and Research Hospital between January 2022 and January 2023, as well as 32 control patients of comparable age and gender. The outcomes of our hospital's biochemistry department's analysis of venous blood samples were evaluated. For statistical analysis, IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 (IBM SPSS, Türkiye) was used to evaluate the study's findings. Results: Vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels of the PES/PEG group were found to be statistically significantly lower than the control group (p=0.007, p=0.045, respectively). There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of serum iron, folate, TIBC, UIBC, NLR, PLR, CRP, and ESR (p>0.05 for each). When we compared the cases with PES with the cases with PEG, no statistically significant difference was found between the two groups in terms of vitamin D, B12, folate, iron, TIBC, UIBC, NLR, PLO, CRP, ESH values (p>0.05 for each). Conclusion: A correlation was found between low serum vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels and PES/PEG. These findings may give us clues about the etiopathogenesis and treatment of the disease.
