ABSTRACT
Objective: This study was conducted to determine the information sources, information seeking behaviors and e-health literacy levels of infertile women and which factors affect these levels. Material and Methods: The sample of this study, which was conducted in a descriptive design, consisted of 75 infertile women. Data were collected by using online data collection forms using the introductory characteristics form and the E-Health Literacy Scale prepared by the researchers in line with the literature. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, t-test for independent groups and one-way analysis of variance were applied. Results: It has been determined that the reasons for women who frequently use internet resources in the information search process are to learn about the reasons for not having children and treatment options, as well as to learn about the experiences of others, to get suggestions from individuals who have had similar experiences, and to exchange information about their treatment process. It was found that 57.3% of the women confirmed the information they obtained, while only 21.3% confirmed this information with health professionals. It has been determined that women use this knowledge in their daily lives and in decision-making processes regarding their health. The mean score of the women's E-Health Literacy Scale was found to be 26.18±7.15. It was found that there was no significant difference between the e-health literacy levels of women and their educational status (p>0.005), but there was a significant difference between the frequency of internet use (p<0.005). Conclusion: In the study, it is quite remarkable that women search for information on many subjects on the internet, but they only confirm the information they need with health professionals, and their e-health literacy level is at a moderate level. For this reason, initiatives to increase e-health literacy levels are recommended so that women can access reliable information.
