Objective: This study was conducted to examine the knowledge and attitudes of pediatric nurses towards traditional and complementary medicine practices. Material and Methods: The population of the study consisted of 178 nurses working in a pediatric hospital. The sample consisted of 117 (65.7%) nurses who agreed to participate in the study. The study was a cross-sectional descriptive study and the data were collected between 01.06.2019-01.08.2019. The data were collected by using 'Nurse Sociodemographic Data Form' 'Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices Information Form' and 'Complementary, Alternative and Conventional Medicine Attitude Scale-CACMAS'. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney U test were used for data analysis. Results: The mean age of the nurses participating in the study was 31.05±7.80, 62% of them were bachelor's degree, 91.5% were women and 47% were working in the pediatric service between 1-5 years. Among the traditional and complementary medicine methods of pediatric nurses, prayer (10.6%), massage (10.4%), yoga (10%), acupuncture (8.7%) and reflexology (6.8%) were the first five methods. It was found that 26.9% of the nurses applied the massage from traditional and complementary medicine practices and 23.3% recommended the massage to the sick child and parents. It was determined that 42.2% of the nurses observed that the hospitalized children and their families used prayer/prayer. The mean score of the pediatric nurses was 112.01±20.07. It was determined that the total scale mean scores of nurses who worked fondly in pediatric clinic were higher (p<0.05). It was determined that the total scale mean scores of nurses recommending traditional and complementary medicine practices to pediatric patients and their parents were higher (p<0.05). Conclusion: Since the mean scores of the traditional complementary medicine attitude scale were above the mean value, the attitudes of pediatric nurses were evaluated as positive.
