Telerehabilitation is one of the popular areas of telemedicine services in recent years. With these remote rehabilitation services, it is possible for health professionals working in the clinic to evaluate, monitor and intervene with the treatment programs of their patients despite long distances. Along with the developments in information and communication technologies, various tools and protocols are developed for the remote realization of rehabilitation services. In the last few years, mobile-based health services have emerged as a revolutionary approach to the practice of telerehabilitation, helping to maintain the rehabilitation process of patients who have difficulty accessing health services in rural areas. One of the most essential points to be emphasized is the continuity of the communication with the health professionals of the patient through these platforms and the success of the rehabilitation process and the costs that can be obtained. Telerehabilitation methods become one of the most commonly used methods due to the increasing demand for orthopaedic physiotherapy and rehabilitation services with the ageing population. Exercise monitoring technologies such as web-based video monitoring applications, remote exercise monitoring with video conferencing method, and web platforms developed with artificial intelligence technology are the popular telerehabilitation methods used frequently in recent years. In this review, we aimed to discuss current telerehabilitation approaches. Besides, the advantages and disadvantages of these existing applications in terms of technical, financial, labour, time-saving, as well as today's most popular and exciting technological rehabilitation methods, artificial intelligence applications are used to shed light on the level.
