Bir bebek daha dünyaya gelmeden, önce anne babanın ve toplumun zihninde doğuyor. O doğmamış bebeğin ruhsal/zihinsel dünyası da, işte o daha doğmadan şekillenmeye başlıyor. Hem ataların, ebeveynlerin genetik mirası ve nörobiyolojik doğası, hem de sosyal/kültürel çevrenin felsefî ve zihinsel mirası, o yeni gelen -evrenin en büyük mucizesi- minik bebeğin beyin/zihin/ruh sağlığına yön veriyor. Diğer bir deyişle, hem genetik hem de memetik olarak biçilmiş kaftanlar, belki de o bebeğe/yeni insan bireyine bol ya da dar geliyor. Peki ya, gen ve çevreyi bir yana bıraktığımızda ortada ne/kim kalıyor? Bebek/insan bu sürecin neresinde ortaya çıkıyor? İşte bu zor sorunun yanıtını merak etmemiz bizi bu kitapta bizi bir araya getirdi. Çocuk ve ergenlerin ruh sağlığı alanında yetki ve sorumlulukları olan -seçkin ve yetkin- bu ekip, ruhun/zihnin sağlığını şekillendiren/yansıtan bu nörobiyolojik ve felsefi etkileşim süreçlerine farklı ve bütüncül bir açıdan ışık tutmaya çalıştı. En çok da nörobiyolojik etken ve süreçleri, felsefi bir perspektiften yorumlamaya çalışarak, çocuk ruh/zihin sağlığına başka bir boyuttan bakmanın yollarını aradı.
Bu kitapta pek çok değerli yazı yer alıyor. Ruhtan nörobilime, nörobilimden de yapay beyine psikiyatrinin evrimi, bebeklik döneminde zihin gelişim süreçleri, beyin ve zihnin arayüzü dikkat işlevleri, zekâ kavramına nörobilim ve felsefe persfektifinden bakış, çocuk ve ergenlerde özgür irade ve karar verme süreçlerinin doğası, vb. pek çok konu ele alındı. Nöroçeşitlilik açısından metakognisyon, Zihin Kuramı, otizm ve benzeri klinik durumlar üzerinde duruldu7. Ayrıca, toplumsal cinsiyet, yeme bozuklukları, istismar ve ihmal, sosyal medya kullanım sorunları, vb. belli başlı klinik durumlar nörobilim ve felsefe perspektifinden incelendi. Psikoterapilerin ve farmakoterapinin hem nörobiyolojik hem de kozmetik/estetik unsurlarına yer verildi.
Her biri özgün ve güncel, geleceğe ışık tutacak bu yazıları kaleme alan tüm yazar arkadaşlarıma yürekten teşekkür ederim.

A baby is born in the minds of parents and society before it is even born. The spiritual/mental world of that unborn baby begins to take shape even before it is born. Both the genetic heritage and neurobiological nature of the ancestors and parents, and the philosophical and mental heritage of the social/cultural environment shape the brain/mind/mental health of the little baby, the greatest miracle of the universe. In other words, both the genetically and memetically tailored caftan may be too loose or too tight for that baby/new human individual. But what/who is left in the middle when we leave genes and environment aside? Where does the baby/human emerge in this process? Our curiosity about the answer to this difficult question brought us together in this book. This eligible and competent team, which has expertise and responsibilities in the field of mental health of children and adolescents tried to shed light on these neurobiological and philosophical interaction processes that shape/reflect the health of the soul/mind from a different and holistic perspective. Most of all, by trying to interpret neurobiological factors and processes from a philosophical perspective, they sought ways to look at child mental health from another dimension.
This book contains many valuable articles. The evolution of psychiatry from the soul to neuroscience and from neuroscience to the artificial brain, the developmental processes of the mind in infancy, the functions of attention as the interface between the brain and the mind, the concept of intelligence from the perspective of neuroscience and philosophy, the nature of free will and decision-making processes in children and adolescents, and many other topics are discussed. Metacognition, Theory of Mind, autism and similar clinical conditions were emphasised in terms of neurodiversity. In addition, certain clinical conditions such as gender, eating disorders, abuse and neglect, social media use problems, etc. were analysed from the perspective of neuroscience and philosophy. Both neurobiological and cosmetic/aesthetic aspects of psychotherapies and pharmacotherapy were included.
I would like to sincerely thank all my fellow authors who have written these articles, each of which is original and up-to-date and will shed light to the future.
