Değerli hekim arkadaşlarım,
Türkiye Klinikleri; çok uzun süredir, Türk tıbbına hizmet amacıyla birçok dergi, yayın vb. faaliyetlerde bulunmaktadır. Bunlarla birlikte çeşitli konularda uzmanların hazırladığı kitaplar çıkartılmış ve yayınlanmıştır. Türkiye Klinikleri yetkilileri kitap için teklifte bulunduğunda konu ile ilgili Türkçe olarak hiçbir yayının yapılmadığı, büyük eksikliğini duyduğum, konuyla ilgilenen hekimlerin başvuru kitabı olmasını arzu ettiğim 'Erişkinlerde Nadir Metabolik Hastalıklar' konusunu teklif ettim ve yetkililerin kabul etmesiyle bu kitap elinize geçti.
Bu kitabın hazırlanmasında iki şeye özellikle dikkat ettik. Birincisi; konuların seçimi, hastalıkların sık rastlanırlığı ve teşhis-tedavi-takipte karşılaşılan problemlerin ortaya koyulmasıdır. Bilindiği gibi buraya almadığımız çok çok daha nadir hastalıklar var, ancak hepsini bir kitaba sığdırmamız mümkün değildi. Konuları seçerken Türkiye Endokrinoloji ve Metabolizma Derneği 'Nadir Rastlanan Metabolik Hastalıklar Çalışma Grubunun' tecrübeli üyeleriyle iki toplantı yaparak karar verdik.
İkinci önemli nokta; konuları bu alanda tecrübeli ve konu ile ilgili vakaları olan hocalarımıza hazırlattık ve aile hekiminden, dahiliye uzmanına, konuyla ilgili yan dallardaki arkadaşlara kadar hepsine yardımcı olmasını ve yol göstermesini hedefledik.
Sanıyorum ki bu kitap; bu alandaki eksiklikleri önemli oranda karşılar ve ilgilenenlere bir kaynak-başvuru kitabı olur. Tabii ki bazı eksiklikler ve hatalar olabilir. Bu konudaki eleştirilere her zaman açığız ve iletişime geçerseniz seviniriz. Türkiye Klinikleri has published many journals, publications, etc. that serve Turkish medicine for a long time. In addition, book prepared by experts on various subjects have been issued and published. When the officials of the Türkiye Klinikleri made an offer for a book, I offered the subject of 'Rare Metabolic Diseases in Adults' which there is no publication on the subject in Turkish, which I feel a great lack of, and which I would like to be a reference book for physicians interested in the subject, and with the approval of the authorities, this book reached your hands.
In the preparation of this book, we paid particular attention to two things. The first was the selection of the subjects, the frequency of the diseases and the problems encountered in diagnosis-treatment-follow-up. As it is known, there are many, many rarer diseases that we did not include here, but it was not possible to fit them all in one book. While choosing the topics, we decided by holding two meetings with the experienced members of the Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Türkiye 'Rare Metabolic Diseases Working Group'.
The second important point is that the subjects prepared by our instructors who are experienced and have many cases in this field. We aimed to help and guide all of them, from family physicians to internists, to friends in related subspecialties.
I think that this book covers the deficiencies in this field to a great extent and will be a reference book for those who are interested. Of course, there may be some shortcomings and errors. We are always open to criticism on this subject and we would be happy if you contact us.
