ABSTRACT
Yoga is a practice in which physiological functions can be activated in cardiovascular and respiratory dimensions with repetitive movements, as well as using the optimal power of the body, which also affects mental and behavioral processes. In Vinyasa yoga, a practice consisting of structuring asanas with a dynamic flow is performed by moving with breathing. It is known that Vinyasa yoga practice, which is known to have an effect on many parameters that affect a person's health and well-being, is combined with breathing flows and exercises, and also has positive effects when done regularly on issues such as pain, fatigue, insomnia, social isolation and loss of balance that negatively affect nursing care. Today, yoga practice becomes an important initiative that ensures the maintenance of physical and mental well-being and increases motivation when it is done consciously. In addition to improving the physiological parameters of the person in nursing care, it is also very important to improve the mental and motivational well-being. It is known that both breathing exercises and physical activity take a large place among the attempts made for this purpose. Considering that Vinyasa yoga consists of these 2 important components, it is thought that it will make an important contribution to nursing care. However, yoga should be a relaxing process in which it is necessary to make sure that the right type of yoga is applied to the individual. For this reason, it is recommended that nurses, who have received the necessary training and certificates, prepare a flow by choosing yoga practice according to the individual. The purpose of our review is to examine the effect of the philosophical and therapeutic aspects of Vinyasa yoga on nursing care.
