ABSTRACT
Professional ethics includes rules established to guide the behavior of professional members correctly. The ethics education given in the health associate degree program aims to enable health technicians to fulfill their professional duties and responsibilities within the framework of ethical principles. The aim of the research was to determine the level of predisposition to ethical values of health associate degree program students taking the professional ethics course. The research was designed as crosssectional and descriptive. The population of the research consisted of all students (n=876) who attended the health associate degree program of a foundation university and took the professional ethics course in the 2022-2023 academic year. The sample was determined as 370 using the sample calculation method with a known population. The number of students to be sampled from 370 students according to health associate degree programs was determined by the stratified sampling method. The students who will participate in the research were selected by random sampling method among the students who met the inclusion criteria. Data; It was collected online with the student information form and the Ethical Values Predisposition Scale. In the analysis of data; number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test and analysis of variance, Cronbach alpha reliability analysis were performed. The average age of the students is 18.0±2.44. 76% are women and 24% are men. The average scores of the students on the Ethical Values Predisposition Scale and its sub-dimensions are high. It was determined that there was no significant difference between the scale total and subscale score averages according to the students' gender and the health associate degree programs they studied. The results obtained show that professional ethics training positively affects the predisposition of health technicians to ethical values. In line with these results; It may be recommended that the professional ethics course be included compulsorily in all undergraduate and associate degree programs, and that research and follow-up studies be conducted with larger samples of students studying and taking the course in the health associate degree programs of different universities, with different research designs (qualitative/quantitative/mixed methods, etc.).
