Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, laminate veneer üzerine Türkçe yazılmış internet sitelerinin kalitesini değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: İnternet siteleri, yaygın arama motoru (Google) aracılığıyla 'laminate veneer', 'porselen laminate veneer', 'lamina diş', 'yaprak porselen' ve 'lamina porselen kaplama' arama terimleri kullanılarak belirlendi. Dâhil edilen internet siteleri, doğrulanmış DISCERN aracı (Tüketici Sağlık Bilgileri için Kalite Kriterleri/Quality Criteria for Consumer Health Information) ve Amerikan Tıp Derneği Dergisi [Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)] kriterleri kullanılarak içerik kalitesi açısından değerlendirildi; Ağda Sağlık Vakfı [Health On the Net Foundation (HON)] logosunun varlığı da kaydedildi. Seçilen internet sitelerinin kurum/kuruluş bilgileri, paylaşılan bilgilerin içeriği ve içeriği oluşturan yazarların uzmanlık bilgileri incelendi. Analiz sonuçları, ortalama ve sıklık olarak hesaplandı. Bulgular: Tespit edilen 250 siteden 91'i çalışmaya dâhil edildi.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of Turkish-written websites on laminate veneer. Material and Methods: Websites were identified using the common search engine (Google), and search terms 'laminate veneer', 'porselen laminate veneer', 'lamina diş', 'yaprak porselen' and 'lamina porselen kaplama'. Included websites were evaluated for quality of content by using the validated DISCERN tool (Quality Criteria for Consumer Health Information) and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmarks; the existence of the Health on the Net (HON) seal was also noted. In the selected websites, the institution/organization information, the content type of information, and the profession of the authors who prepared the content were examined. Analysis results were calculated as mean and frequency. Results: Of the 250 sites identified, 91 single sites have entered the study. None met all the JAMA criteria. While most of the pages provided only one criterion (n=66), the number of pages meeting both criteria was determined as 13. The average DISCERN score for the included sites was poor with 28.3 points (minimum 17, maximum 54, standard deviation 7.8). All websites scored very poor, poor fair, or good-excellent scores were not found. No website presented the HON seal. Conclusion: In this study, it was concluded that the current quality of informative Turkish websites on laminate veneer was poor organized. Medical information on the internet should be controlled and experts in the subject should assist the patients who want to access accurate and reliable information from the internet.
