ABSTRACT
Cardiovascular diseases refer to a range of health problems affecting the cardiovascular system, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, stroke and arrhythmias. Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of adult mortality and morbidity worldwide. The fact that cardiovascular diseases alone account for a significant proportion of global mortality and morbidity is a major indicator of the urgent need for comprehensive prevention, early detection and treatment strategies. As the world population ages, the incidence of cardiovascular diseases is increasing. Moreover, the treatment and management of cardiovascular diseases increases the economic burden on both individuals and health systems. Drug costs, surgical interventions and longterm care cause serious economic losses. Advances in technology and medicine are forcing countries around the world to seek solutions to this crisis, which has a major impact on adult health. Therefore, interest in complementary and integrative methods is increasing day by day. Complementary and integrative methods are approaches that are used alongside or in combination with traditional methods. With these methods, the treatment plan can be personalized by focusing on the individuality and preferences of the person. By combining traditional medicine and complementary and integrative medicine methods, the aim is to improve the overall health of individuals, treat diseases or alleviate symptoms. Complementary and integrative medicine practices used in cardiovascular disease management can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improve overall mental health. In many studies, it has been reported that the most commonly used applications of individuals with cardiovascular disease are herbal products such as omega-3 fatty acids; mind-body applications such as osteopathy, chiropractic and massage. In this study; complementary and integrative medicine methods commonly used in cardiovascular diseases and their effects were examined.

Keywords: Complementary and integrative; cardiovascular diseases; massage, chiropractic, acupressure, osteopathic manipulation
