Bulgular: İntörn öğrencilerin %42,4'ü hemşirelik mesleğini isteyerek seçmiş, uygulama öncesi %53,5'i mesleki uygulama öncesi kendini uygulamaya hazır hissettiğini belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin genel mesleki uygulamalarına ilişkin kendilerini yetersiz gördüğü beceriler; acil durumları yönetme (%21,5) ve yenidoğan izlem ve bakım (%17,3), doğum öncesi veya sonrası bakım (%7,6) idi. Genel öz yeterlilik puan ortalaması 57,90±10,9'dur. Mesleğini isteyerek seçen ve seven ve mesleki uygulamaya kendini hazır hisseden öğrencilerin öz yeterlilikleri yüksektir (p<0,05). Sonuç: İntern hemşirelerin öz yeterlilik algıları orta düzeydedir. Öğrencilerin mesleki uygulama becerilerinde her klinikte yapabildikleri mesleki uygulama becerileri daha yeterli iken, özel uygulama gerektiren alan becerileri daha düşüktür. İntörnlük uygulamasına başlamadan önce öğrencilerin kendilerini hazır hissetmelerini sağlamada, planlı ve akredite bir eğitimin sürdürülmesi, öğrencilerin bilgilendirilmesi, beklentilerin karşılıklı ifadesi ve beklentilere ulaşma hedeflerinin belirlenmesi önemlidir.

ABSTRACT
Objective: Internship practice is seen as an approach that benefits nursing students' professional practice skills and self-efficacy perceptions. This study aimed to evaluate the professional practice skills and self-efficacy perceptions of intern nursing students. Material and Methods: The descriptive and cross-sectional study conducted in nursing department intern students was completed with the participation of 144 students in total. Descriptive information form, intern professional practice skills assessment form and General Self-Efficacy Scale were used to collect the data. Data were analyzed using number, percentage, mean, t test and analysis of variance test. Results: Of the intern students, 42.4% chose the nursing profession willingly and 53.5% of them stated that they felt ready to practice before Professional practice. The skills that the students considered themselves inadequate in their general professional practice were managing emergencies (21.5%), neonatal follow-up and care (17.3%), and prenatal or postnatal care (7.6%). The mean overall self-efficacy score was 57.90±10.9. The self-efficacy of the students who willingly choose and love their profession and feel ready for professional practice is high (p<0.05). Conclusion: Self-efficacy perceptions of intern nurses are at a moderate level. While the students' professional practice skills that they can perform in each clinic are more adequate in professional practice skills, the field skills that require special practice are lower. It is important to maintain a planned and accredited education, to inform the students, to mutually express the expectations and to determine the goals of reaching the expectations in order to ensure that the students feel ready before starting the internship practice.
